life is hard.  anyone who doesn't know that either hasn't lived very long, or at least hasn't been paying very much attention.  The Bible says in the book of Job, "man is born for trouble as surely as sparks fly upward."  so what's the point of living a hard life and then dying?  the point is that we were put here with a greater purpose.  we were created by God, to worship Him, to enjoy Him, forever.  the amazing thing about my God is that He was willing to enter in to our suffering.  He knows what it's like!  And He sent His Son Jesus, so that even though we might have to go though some stuff, that for the christian, in the end there would be hope, purpose, victory.
i've played soccer ever since i was four.   i have come to love the game.  one of the parts i enjoy most is scoring goals.  (i'm sure most people enjoy this as well!).  One of the reasons i love it is that it sparks off great celebration.  it is not an easy thing to score.  soccer is not an easy game.  it becomes harder when you dwell on your failures, or even your successes.  But as the Bible says, " I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."  One day, after this mere "ninety minutes" of life, we're going to get there.  And it will all be worth it.  We know that the celebrations will be ours someday.  all the strivings, toils, and setbacks will not even be worth comparing to the crown, to glory.    the multitudinous throng, the splendored church of God all gathered in one place, cheering on our champion who has won for us the greatest victory of all time. . .
